S-Series Package

(Up to 700 hp; 26.70-lb. case)

The S-Series package is a completely assembled Ford 9” third member equipped with selected options and shipped ready to install. Cases are constructed from high-grade nodular iron and feature a radial-ribbed design, providing more uniformed support for the pinion and carrier bearings. The caps, also nodular iron, are designed with increased thickness for added strength and ring-gear stability. Available case bores are 3.0625”, matching the OEM large-bearing size for use with 28- and 31-spline axles, or the larger 3.250” for street/strip 35-spline axles. Standard S-Series pinion yokes are cast steel and can be upgraded to CNC-machined chromemoly. The pinion support is nodular iron with a billet-aluminum support offered as an upgrade. Ring-and-pinion-gear selections range from 3.50-6.50:1. Gears are professionally adjusted when assembled and can be lightened for weight-sensitive applications. Packages are available with choice of spool or posi-traction units, with a range of spline counts and upgrades offered for each. The base spool package provides a choice between the lightweight aluminum spool or stronger steel spool. Posi-unit packages come standard with a nodular-iron, clutch-type limited-slip differential. Upgrades available for specific performance requirements include torque-sensing, billet-half posi units and lockers.
